Patrick Fitzgerald

Founding Director

Extensive volunteering in queer organisations and a natural extrovert, Patrick is well networked and thrives on building community. He has deeply explored the issues affecting how we relate in the social spaces used by GBQ men. Patrick is completing a counselling certificate. He has completed university studies in the sociology of gender and sexuality, and continues to read academic research.


He spent 6 years as a skilled volunteer with the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, including 2 years on its board, and has volunteered with Switchboard and the Equality Party and fundraised for the Victorian Aids Council (now Thorne Harbour).


Patrick has been practising Ashtanga Yoga for 17 years and is a disciple of the Yoga master Paramhansa Yogananda. He teaches meditation and yoga at The Ashtanga Centre of Melbourne.


12 years’ experience in professional fundraising and strong aptitudes in marketing, sales, data management and analysis, writing, training, public speaking, facilitation and theatrical performance.
